La Galleria Davide Di Maggio è lieta di invitarvi all'inaugurazione della mostra di Alessandro Di Giampietro "GOLDENBOY".

La Galleria Davide Di Maggio presenta dal 26 maggio al 31 luglio 2010 la personale di Alessandro Di Giampietro, dal titolo GOLDENBOY, una selezione di 29 polaroid, tratte da un lavoro più ampio e ancora in svolgimento, che ritraggono personaggi del mondo dell'arte contemporanea.

La scelta dei soggetti non e’ mai casuale, ognuno ha qualcosa che lo attrae o lo respinge, ma nessuno gli è indifferente.

I suoi scatti vengono tutti eseguiti nello stesso contesto: uno sfondo costituito da una tendina dorata. I soggetti ritratti decidono come mostrarsi alla camera. In questa fase del lavoro l'artista si limita solamente ad effettuare l’inquadratura e lo scatto.

Lo scatto è molto veloce, tanto da non dare il tempo alla persona ritratta di impostarsi per la situazione, facendo quindi emergere la vera personalità del soggetto. Solo in un secondo momento interverrà nelle sue foto strappandole e ricombinandole di nuovo, rivelando così nuovi strati di significato altrimenti invisibili prima.

Alessandro Di Giampietro basa tutto il suo lavoro sulla spontaneità, vero punto di forza della sua fotografia ed elemento fuori controllo, impossibile da ricreare nello scatto costruito. Se a volte disturba l’immagine, allo stesso tempo rende lo scatto più interessante, più vero. A Di Giampietro interessano le sfumature e le espressioni non pianificate, tutti quegli elementi casuali e spontanei, a volte antiestetici ma sempre forti. L’artista nel suo lavoro fotografico è in costante ricerca dell’altro e di sé attraverso l’altro. L’incontro con l’alterità l’ha sempre spaventato, fin da adolescente, e per questo il lavoro proposto in mostra si basa proprio sul ritratto degli “altri” dove cerca la prova della sua esistenza fatta di paure, fobie, curiosità, voglia di vivere e bisogno di essere accettato.

Alessandro Di Giampietro nasce a Pescara nel 1972.Vive e lavora a Milano.

La mostra proseguirà fino al 31 luglio 2010

Die Galerie Davide Di Maggio freut sich, Sie auf die Eröffnung der Einzelausstellung von Alessandro Di Giampietro "GOLDENBOY" einladen zu dürfen.

Die Galerie Davide Di Maggio präsentiert vom 26. März bis zum 31. Juli 2010 die Einzelausstellung von Alessandro Di Giampietro mit dem Titel GOLDENBOY, eine Auswahl von neunundzwanzig Polaroid aus einer längerfristigen Arbeitsreihe, die bisher zahlreiche Fotografien hervorgebracht hat und welche auch in Zukunft fortgesetzt werden soll. Diese Reihe von Fotografien zeigt ausschließlich Porträts von Persönlichkeiten der zeitgenössischen Kunstszene.

Die Auswahl der Modelle ist niemals beliebig, jedes von ihnen hat etwas, das es anziehend oder abstoßend macht und keinen Betrachter unbeeindruckt zurück lässt.

Die Schnappschüsse der Ausstellung (eine zwanzigstel Sekunde für jedes Foto) finden alle in der gleichen Umgebung statt: den Hintergrund bildet ein vergoldeter Vorhang. Die Fotomodelle entscheiden, wie sie sich der Kamera zeigen möchten. In dieser Phase begnügt sich der Künstler damit, den Rahmen für das Bild herzustellen und die Aufnahme zu machen.

Das schnelle Betätigen des Auslösers lässt den Modellen dabei keine Zeit, sich zu positionieren oder zu posieren, und so kann ihre wahre Persönlichkeit zum Vorschein gebracht werden. Bloß in einem zweiten Moment greift der Künstler in die Fotografien ein, indem er sie zerreißt und neu zusammensetzt und damit neue Bedeutungsebenen schafft, die andernfalls nicht sichtbar geworden wären.

Der Ursprung Alessandro Di Giampietros Arbeit ist die Spontaneität, ein unkontrollierbares Element, das für die Intensität und Ausdruckskraft seiner Bilder verantwortlich ist, jedoch unmöglich in dem entstandenen Schnappschuss wiederhergestellt werden kann. Selbst wenn dieses Element das Entstehen des Bildes ab und an stört, lässt es den Schnappschuss interessanter und wirklicher werden. Di Giampietro interessiert sich für die unvorhergesehenen Nuancen und den spontanen Ausdruck, für all jene zufälligen Elemente, die zeitweise unästhetisch wirken, aber immer eine starke Ausdruckskraft besitzen. Der Künstler ist in seiner fotografischen Arbeit auf der konstanten Suche nach dem Anderen und durch das Andere nach dem eigenen Selbst. Das „Anderssein“ hat ihn immer erschreckt, von klein an, und aus diesem Grund basiert die aktuelle Ausstellung auf dem Porträtieren des “Anderen“, in dem er ein Zeugnis für seine Existenz sucht, einer Existenz voller Ängste, Phobien, Merkwürdigkeiten, der Lust am Leben und dem Druck, akzeptiert zu werden.

Alessandro Di Giampietro ist 1972 in Pescara geboren. Er lebt und arbeitet in Mailand.

Die Ausstellung bleibt bis zum 31. Juli 2010 geöffnet.

Davide Di Maggio gallery presents from 26th May till 31st July 2010 the solo exhibition of Alessandro Di Giampietro, entitled GOLDENBOY, a selection of 29 polaroids, taken from a wider and still in progress work that portrays people of the contemporary art scene.

The choice of the subjects is never accidental, each one of them has something that attracts the artist or drives him away, nobody leaves him cold.

His shots (20 circa for each subject) are all taken in the same context: a background made by a golden curtain. The portrayed subjects decide how to pose in front of the camera. In this phase of the work the artist restrict himself to shooting.

The shots are so fast that the portrayed people have not the time to think about how to pose, showing in this way their own personality. Only in a second moment the artist intervenes in the photos tearing them up and combining them differently, revealing new layers of meaning, unknown before.

Alessandro Di Giampietro bases all his work and technique on spontaneity, the true strong point of photography resides according to the artist in the surprise factor, in other words in the impossibility of controlling that moment in which anything can happen. If the artist sometimes disturbs the image, at the same time he makes the shot more interesting, more real. Di Giampietro is interested in the unplanned nuances or expressions, in all those accidental and spontaneous elements that are, we can say, anaesthetic to a certain extent but capable of lending the image strength and character.

In his photographic work the artist is constantly looking for the others and for himself through the others. Dealing with otherness provokes in him a sense of fear. An ancient fear dating back to his teenage years, an anguish that if rationalized takes him back to the terror of possible rejection and, consequently, of his non-acknowledgement by others.

Alessandro Di Giampietro was born in Pescara nel 1972, lives and works in Milan.
