Contemporary Art from Bulgaria and Romania

On the occasion of Bulgaria's and Romania's recent accession to the EU, the MKM  Museum Küppersmühle will present crucial positions of both country's art scenes from June 1st to August 26th, 2007. Internationally renowned artists (e.g. Nedko Solakov) will take part in the show as well as influential protagonists of the national art scenes (e.g. Svetlin Roussev) and newcomers (e.g. Gorzo).

Commissioner of the exhibition is Markus Lüpertz who holds a lectureship at Cluj Academy of Art for several years. Curators are Iara Boubnova, director of the Institute of Contemporary Art in Sofia, and Liviana Dan, head of the picture gallery of Brukenthalmuseum in Sibiu.

Opening: May 31st, 2007, 7 p.m.
